Fun Authority Rules   Welcome to our general operational guidelines.   1.) Please try to limit your profanity This site is utilized by a great number of people, and excessive use of profanity is generally found offensive by most. 2.) No excessive posting is allowed This means, try not to post consecutively in a thread, without giving your fellow members ample time to respond. Try to think about your topic/reply and include all relevant information in a single post. 3.) No sensitive information allowed This is really a two-part rule. First, do not divulge any private information such as your Social Security Number or your home address. This forum is not the appropriate place for that information. Also, please do not divulge any login/password information. Finally, do not post any information obtained from a spy report about another country. This information may be shared with your allies privately but may not be posted publicly. Those disregarding this rule will be punished, up to and including banishment from the site. 4.) No HTML is allowed This applies to ANYWHERE on the site. Most places it has been blocked already, but for any that were missed it is still prohibited. This applies to even minor stuff such as changing FONT colors. Also, posting HTML increases that bandwidth and therefore slows the site down. Please remember that. 5.) No threatening is allowed outside of game play. This applies to ANY section of the site and means specifically that you do not threaten to harm anyone OUTSIDE of the game. Threatening to kill their Conquest country is fine, but threatening to "run them over with your car" for instance is NOT. 6.) No excessive name-calling. We all need to blow off steam occasionally but that does not mean you can go around calling people derogatory names. Minor words like "idiot", "fool" etc. are allowed but more excessive names are not. However consistent name-calling will result in a tag. This also means that you must be respectful of other people's views/ beliefs and/or opinions, even if you disagree with them. Just because you have differing views doesn't mean there is any need to resort to name-calling. 7.) General harassment of other players is NOT allowed. This includes sending abusive messages and/or calling people derogatory names in the forums. This is a family friendly site, please remember that. 8.) No multis allowed You are not allowed to have more than 1 FunAuthority.com user account at any given time. As such, you are only allowed 1 account on the Conquest Standard Action server. One of our primary tools for blocking multis is to only allow one (1) account per computer. We understand that this causes some problems for those that would otherwise access the site via public computers, but it is one of the better solutions available to us. Please be aware that as soon as a second player logs in to their account using your computer, both of your accounts will be tagged. 9.) No cooperation on Conquest Standard Action In addition to multis not being allowed in Conquest Standard Action, you are not allowed to work in a cooperative manner in killing other provinces on this server. You make work out all the peaceful arrangements you want for NOT attacking other players, but you cannot cooperate in attacking. This server is for individual game play. Teams need to look at the High Action server. 10.) This is an ENGLISH speaking site I know we have players from all over the world, and we welcome you, we really do. However, we have to ask that you speak in ENGLISH (or something really close to it, since some of our American players don't even speak good english!) It's not that English is better than all other languages, but simply that I know English but not French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, or any of the hundreds of other languages in the world. I need to know what you are saying, so I must request that you make ALL posts in English. 11.) Be respectful to the moderators The site admins are here to enforce these rules and if you feel that anyone is abusing you or breaking these rules, feel free to message any one (or all) of them. There is a list of the admins on the "Moderator Listings" link in the forums. If you disagree with the ruling of a moderator either message another moderator for a review, or contact Preacher Boy. 12.) Don't continue to break the rules after being warned If a person is tagged more than twice in 6 months for the same offence, then they will get double tags for each offence after that. The tag system is a warning to all players and if you don't heed the warning first time round, then you will be punished more heavily the next time. 13.) Don't be a general pest This rule entails everything not explicitly covered in any rule above. These forums serve a wide ranging audience and a difference of opinions is to be expected. However, please try and remain mature and act in a courteous manner. 14.) Other Rules If you have to question it, don't do it. If you do question it, ask me before doing it or you might find yourself tagged for an offense.   Rules Violation Penalties   Shown below are the general guidelines used for punishing rules violations.   FunAuthority.com utilizes a Tag system. A user starts at 0 and can work upward to level 10, as follows: Level 0: No action taken | No Tag (Default Level) Level 1: No action taken | Tag = * Warned * Level 2: No action taken | Tag = ** Warned ** Level 3: No action taken | Tag = ** Warned ** Level 4: Banned from forums | Tag = ** Probation ** Level 5: Banned from forums | Tag = ** Probation ** Level 6: Blocked from all games & forums | Tag = * Suspension * Level 7: Blocked from all games & forums | Tag = * Suspension * Level 8: Blocked from all games, forums & Message Center | Tag = ** Suspension ** Level 9: Blocked from all games, forums & Message Center | Tag = ** Suspension ** Level 10: Banned from Site | Tag = *** Banned *** The system will automatically keep track of when the last time your tag was upgraded. If it has been at least 7 days since your last upgrade then you will be reduced by 1 level (except for level 10, which is permanent). So, if you are at level 9 it will take you 8 weeks before you will be able to play the game again, and even then you will be under probation. The profanity filter is currently blocking posts as they are submitted. This system will automatically upgrade your accouny by 1 level for each post caught. For words that get around the filter, but don't appear to be intentionally constructed to avoid the filter, you will be raised by 1 level. These words will be added to the filter. For words that appear to be intentionally constructed to subvert the filter you will be raised by 3 levels. These words will be added to the filter. For profane country names in Conquest the owning account will be raised by 3 levels and the country will be locked. For profane Fun Authority account names the account will be raised by 10 levels. For those caught running multiple Fun Authority accounts the OLDEST account will be raised by 3 levels and the newest account by 10. This will be done for EACH multi found. If multiple S/A accounts exist between the multiple Fun Authority accounts then all S/A accounts will be locked. If TW games exist where two or more of the Fun Authority accounts are in the same game, then both accounts will be removed from those games. For those caught using multiple accounts in Conquest S/A, both conquest accounts will be locked and both owning accounts will be raised by 3 levels. For those caught breaking any other rules, including threatening players, spamming the message boards, posting other peoples Conquest country information in the forums, etc., their account will be raised by 2 levels for each occurence. Other additional tag upgrades will be done at my discretion for unexpected violations that have not been previously outlined.
